Paying for a job on Vonigo with a Pay Card Present, which requires a MagTek tDynamo reader, is possible. Before being used to pay for a job, the smartphone/tablet must be paired with or connected to the reader.
Pairing the Reader

Use the image below as the reference for the steps:
1. First, ensure the reader has a General Status LED (LED 4) solid green light.
2. Open the Pay Now option to scan for devices.
3. On the reader, press and hold the Pushbutton for 3 seconds, until the General Status LED (LED 4) starts to blink slowly with a blue light.
4. Select the reader in the Vonigo app by tapping on it.
5. When prompted, enter 000000 as the PIN to pair the device.
6. After successful pairing, the device will show a Disconnected status, and then the General Status LED (LED 4) should have a solid green light.
7. Tap on the Return button and the device will show again on the scanning page.
8. Make sure that the General Status LED (LED 4) has a solid green light
9. Tap on the reader again; the Vonigo app should now direct you to the successful connection page.
Paying a Job Via Vonigo Pay Card Present
To pay for a job via Vonigo Pay Card Present, follow the steps below:
Step 1 - Pay Now Button
- Access the selected work order details.
- Press the Pay Now button if available (in some cases completion of the work order either via completion checklist or closing out will launch the same interface).
Step 2 - Tip and Signature
Note: If the system is configured to collect client tips and/or signatures, the next step will be displayed.
- The payment amount is calculated as a total for the given work order + any tips.
Step 3 - Select a Credit Card or Debit Card Payment Method
- Select payment method (i.e. credit card brand).
- The Card Present device integration will start only if a Credit or Debit Card is selected as the payment method.
Step 4 - Select the Device
- The Vonigo app will perform a scan for Bluetooth card readers and display each reader as it is discovered.
- While the app is scanning, a card reader can be switched on, and the Vonigo app will find it.
- When pairing the MagTek tDynamo reader for the first time, the Vonigo app will display the reader's name as a red button indicating the reader has not been paired before. Please refer to the Pairing Reader for details about how to pair the device.
- For any subsequent usage of the same reader, the reader's name will appear as a green button.
Step 4.1 - Device Scanning
1. The MagTek tDynamo works with a continuing scanning option, so any time the reader is switched on, it will show on this page of the Vonigo app
2. If the device does not show up even after switching it on, tap on the top-left back arrow and repeat the steps above
3. If the desired device is not listed, please verify that:
- The device is switched on
- The device is not connected to another Vonigo app on another smartphone
- The device is flashing blue
- tDynamo General Status LED (LED 4) is a solid Green Light.
- As reference check the below possible statuses
- Green flashing: Powered on and ready, or indication to swipe a card.
- LEDs 4, 3, 2, 1 light in sequence: Device has read a contactless tap.
- All 4 LEDs on together: Device has just been powered on.
- LEDs 4, 3, 2, 1 light in combination: Battery check result after pressing pushbutton.
- Steady green: Host has initiated a contactless EMV transaction.
- Three Blue flashes: After pressing the pushbutton for 2 seconds, the device will transition to Pairing Mode when the button is released.
- Short Blue Flashing: Flashing Blue (for pairing mode).
- As reference check the below possible statuses
Step 5 - Connect with the Device
- Once the desired card reader is shown, tap on the red (for a reader being used for the first time) or green (for a previously used reader) button with the device you want to use to receive the payment.
- The Vonigo app will start to connect with the device, and the connection process will be updated in real-time.
- The screen also has the option to process cards by manually entering the credit card details or using a card on file, instead of using the card reader.
- The screen has 5 regions:
- The work order being paid
- The payment amount
- The overall transaction status, and an icon representing it.
- The current device name
- The device display message on the bottom.
- Once the PRESENT CARD message is displayed, the device is then ready to accept payment
- Once the reader is connected, the interaction is done through the reader.
- Once the interaction happens with the reader, the reader sends a COMPLETED display message. At this point, the payment is being processed in 3 steps. It is important that the user does not leave this screen until the process is complete.
- The device reads the card information and shows all of its front green lights on.
- The payment is processed for that card.
- The payment processing result is recorded in Vonigo.
- At this point, the screen will not present an option to process cards by manually entering the credit card details or using a card on file, as the transaction is already being processed.
Step 7 - Completion
Once payment successfully completed, a completion message is shown with the ability to close the screen.
Note: If the payment fails, the failure reason with the respective icon will be presented on the screen.
