Overview

The percentage-based charge is a feature to have the option to customize the charge, which would be able to determine the percentage of the work order value. The percentage-based charge can convert the price item into a percentage (%). It can only be used for quantity and hourly computations.

Calculation Logic

Below is the logic of how the percentage-based calculations are calculating the selected price item:

• The percentage will be taken from the summary of all charges not marked as "Calculate As %".
• The subtotal of charges (charge price after discount applied) and before taxes will be calculated.
• The percentage of the charge will be calculated against this item.
• The final value will be rounded into 2 decimals.
• Subsequent tax(es) (if applicable, will be added).
• If there are multiple % items assigned to the charge list, each will be calculated independently.
• Discount applied to the order as a whole will be ignored in the calculation of those items.

Activate the Percentage Feature

• On your homepage, locate the Setup button.

• Press the Prices & Finance dropdown.

• Go to the Price List section.

• Select the item you need to edit. Tick the checkbox on the left side of the table.

• Click the Edit button.

• Tick the Calculated based on percentage box to use the feature.

• Click UPDATE.

The percentage-based feature can be observed on the Charges Panel. Check the image below for an illustration of a percentage-based feature.

Note: The interface changes will be visible under work order, quote, order intake, invoice, new invoice quote and work order screens.
